NOTE: Falang translation for DJ-Catalog2 works only in backend, currently there's no way of translating items from frontend.
Here is a short instruction how to use FaLang Extension with DJ-Catalog2 for Joomla,
it's another 3rd party extension support available for DJ-Catalog2 (the first one was Xmap sitemap extension - also availabe in your download area).
Ok , let's start:
First you need to install FaLang extension available here.
After installing DJ-Catalog2 and Falang it is required to install XML files which allow translation of DJ-Catalog2 extension.
To do so you need to:
- Enter Falang component
- Go to the "Content elements" bookmark
- Click "Install" in right-upper corner and install this way file after file:
djc2_categories.xml, djc2_producers.xml, djc2_items.xml (available in your download area)
Translation of DJ-Catalog2 elements:
To translate, go to "Translation" tab, choose the language (1) on the right side and element to translate (2) :
After choosing "DJ-Catalog-Categories" elements, you'll see the list of DJ-Catalog2 categories.
Choose the category, which you want to translate by clicking it's name:
It's possible to change category's title (1), it's description (2). It's important to mark publication (3).
Changes will be saved by clicking the save button (4).
Optionally, you can also translate the "Metakey" and "Metadesc" fields.
The same happens for the translation of products and producers by selecting an option:
Translating Menu Position:
Choose the element to translate- "Menu"(1) and then choose menu, which includes the position to translate (2):
Choose menu positon, which you want to be translated by clicking it.
Change the name (1) and alias (2) and publicate (3). At the end, save all (4).
Don't forget to publish the "FaLang Language Switcher" module in position where you want the switcher to appear and you're ready with your multilanguage DJ-Catalog2 website!
