Install all the packages in the ordinary way, start by installing DJ-Catalog2 component first.

Navigate Extensions > Install/Uninstall

Choose the package and press Upload File & Install

The DJ-Catalog2 component allows you to segregate products in a thematic categories, assigning pictures and attachments to them.

Navigate Extensions > DJ Catalog2

You will see the control panel of DJ Catalog2 component:

Short description:

• Categories – shows a list of available categories
• Producers – shows a list of available producers
• Products – shows a list of available products
• New Category – shortcut to add a new category
• New Producer – shortcut to add a new producer
• Documentation – link to the documentation at dj-extensions.com

See the basic steps to configure DJ-Catalog2 component:

• Set parameters
• Create a category
• Create a producer
• Create a product

At the begining, take a look at a parameters view, where you can set configuration. Press Parameters at the top panel.

Then you will see a page:

Short description:

Global Settings

• Price unit – enter a currency you want to be displayed
• Thousand separator – set the thousand separator - space/apostrophe/comma
• Decimal separator – set the decimal separator - comma/period
• Unit side – choose the left/right side to display unit
• Footer – choose yes/no to display link to design-joomla.eu addons

Category View - Category

• Catalog Mode – turning on this option will result in displaying products assigned to currently browsed category only. If you set to “No”, component will retrieve products from all subcategories
• Category information – show/hide category information

Category View - Sub-Category

• Sub-Categories Header – show/hide sub-categories header
• Sub-Categories – show/hide sub-categories
• Columns – number of columns to display sub-categories
• Truncate description – turning on this option will remove all html tags from the description
• Description length – enter a number limit of description characters, leave 0 to display all characters
• Image on click behavior – choose slimbox if you want sub-category image to resize in slimbox after clicking or choose redirect/browse to redirect to the sub-category
• Readmore – show/hide readmore link

Category View – Item

• Products per page – number of products per page
• Columns – number of columns to display products
• Category filter – show/hide category search filter
• Producer filter – show/hide producer search filter
• Search filter – show/hide search filter
• Category ordering – show/hide ordering by category
• Producer ordering – show/hide ordering by producer
• Name ordering – show/hide ordering by name
• Price ordering – show/hide ordering by price
• Category name – display category name as link/as text or hide
• Producer name – display producer name as link to producer lightbox/as text/as link to producer description or hide
• Price – show price always/hide or only if>0 (if the price is higher than 0)

Item View

• Category name – display category name as link, as text or hide

• Price – show price always/hide or only if>0 (if the price is higher than 0)

Image Processing Configuration

• Image processing – select the method of image processing - fit to width/fit to height/crop
• Large image width/height – a dimensions of a large image measured in pixels, it is a main image which is linked to its larger size
• Medium image width/height – a dimensions of a medium image measured in pixels, this image appears in every view of the component
• Small image width/height – a dimensions of a small image measured in pixels e.g. displayed in rows/columns in Frontpage module or in different views of the component

Make your changes and press Save button.

Let's start with creating an example category. Press New Category button from Control Panel, then you will see a page:

Short description:

• Name – enter a name of category
• Alias – enter an alternative name of category or leave it blank
• Parent – first category leave as Root Category, the next one can be assigned as a subcategory
• Published – choose yes/no if you want to publish category or not
• Ordering – choose the order of category display (first you have to save a category)
• Description – enter a description of category
• Notice – notice about pagebreak plugin
• Images – add an image to the category

If you want to make some changes in added category e.g. change an image or a description, you have to edit a respective category.

Make your changes and press Save button.

The second step is creating a producer.

Press New Producer button from Control Panel, then you will see a page:

Short description:

• Name – enter a name of producer
• Alias – enter an alternative name of producer or leave it blank
• Published – choose yes/no if you want to publish producer or not
• Ordering – choose the order of producer display (first you have to save a producer)
• Description – enter a description of producer
• Notice – notice about pagebreak plugin
• Images – add an image to producer

Now we can pass on to create an individual product of a category. Choose New Product button from Control Panel, then you will see a page:

Short description:

• Name – enter a name of product
• Alias – enter an alternative name of product or leave it blank
• Published – choose yes/no if you want to publish product or not
• Ordering – choose the order of product display (first you have to save a new product)
• Category – choose a category of product
• Producer – choose a producer of product
• Price – enter a price of product
• Intro description – enter a short description of product
• Description – enter a description of product
• Notice – notice about pagebreak plugin
• Images – add an image to product
• Attachments – add an attachment to product

Navigate to a menu where you want to create a link and select DJCatalog2 from a menu item type. This will allow you to make another choice between mentioned options above.

Using a component, there are four ways to show your categorized products.

• Single Product View
• Category View – Blog
• Category View – Table
• Producer View

Another way to show a content of DJ-Catalog2 is by using DJ-Catalog2 Frontpage module. This Ajax module displays thumbnails and a brief description of a product. Thumbnail's size is imposed by the component settings.

Look at the configuration view and short description of parameters:

• An ability to show/hide: title, category name and pagination
• Order by – select an item's order
• Categories – choose a category you want to display in a frontpage module
• Thumbnail columns – enter a number of columns you want to create for thumbnails
• Thumbnail rows – enter a number of rows you want to create for thumbnails
• Image size – choose main thumbnail image size large/medium
• Intro text truncate – yes/no truncate intro text
• Intro text length – enter a number limit of intro text characters, leave 0 to display all characters

This module displays a tree with DJ Catalog2 categories - the same style as the normal menu. You can specify whether the category will be displayed in a table or a blog layout. You can also expand your menu module items if you want to display subcategories.

This module allows you to view the products assigned to the selected producer. You can specify whether the category will be displayed in a table or a blog layout. You can also specify if you want to display items from current category or all categories, after selecting the producer.

Pagebreak button in DJ-Catalog2 is managed by DJ Catalog2 - Pagebreak plugin. It allows to separate from the content (text above first pagebreak), named sections which will be displayed in divs, tabs or accordion (depending on the plugin settings).

To set effect type, navigate Extensions > Plugin Manager and choose Dj-Catalog2 - Pagebreak

You can use pagebreak by pressing Pagebreak button in detail view of producer, category or product:

Then you will see a page where you have to choose a title:

Press Insert Pagebreak and that's it.
