We like Joomla! – it should not surprise you. We like the CMS – sure, it's the best! But we just LOVE community around our little (not that little!) world. That's why we support events that are interesting and important. In next few weeks three big meetings that DJ-Extensions sponsors will take place. Read more about those events, pack your bags and enjoy amazing time with other Joomlers!
JoomlaDay Boston – 15-16 March 2014
The event will take place at the Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts and it will be two-day festival of keynotes, workshops, lectures and talks. It's the best Joomla! event to the New England region.
On Saturday, 15 March, there will be 17 presentations and keynotes with some of Joomla! top developers and innovators. Speeches and workshops will be divided into topic-groups such as Design, Administrator, Joomla Project and Development.
Here are some interesting lectures:
Design, 10:10 – Barb Ackerman's workshop: "Tweak your Favorite Template..."
In this short workshop I'll demonstrate these 4 lines of code that can be added to templates for 2.5 or 3.2 and how they might be useful. I'll show how and where to add them in templates based on OneWeb and Yoo's Master theme.
Development, 14:10 – Matt Simonsen: "Joomla Extensions (and How to Work with Developers)"
The goal of the talk is to help users and integrators better understand extension developers and how to work with them. Joomla developers are critical to our ecosystem, and as users our experience is often shaped by our own behavior more than we realize.
Joomla Project, 13:10 – Jess Dunbar: Joomla Marketing - Interactive Session
The Joomla community has a new Marketing team and we need your help...
On the second day participants will have possibility to choose one from two all-day tracks – All Day Developers and All Day Administrators, featuring stars like David Hurley, Dawn Russell, Matt Thomas.
Still not sure what to do on the weekend 15-16 March?

The second day of J and Beyond will have a unique structure - in the morning you will be able to join prep sessions, discussions, or workshops and after lunch everyone will work in groups. It's the best way to strengthen Joomla! community – by solving problems and generating ideas together.
Since it's still some time to this event, you can sign up to be a speaker until 21 March. Think beyond the obvious and try to propose sessions that will truly inform, educate and engage with the unique audience at J and Beyond.
