DJ-Classifieds 2.3 beta ready for tests

We're happy to announce the availability of DJ-Classfieds version 2.3 beta.

This version is meant to provide you quick look for the stable 2.3 version.

The main features of this update, beside the fixes, are:

• option to set classifieds types - You can create as many types as you want (for example: "to sell", "to buy", "to exchange" etc.) with option to create styles for each type setting the text color, background color, border color, border size and additional styles. The type can be choosen in the search module and is visibile in table and items view.

• The other interesting change is that you can also select the captcha style to be used - previously there was only one style available. Now you can choose the style that fits more your site's overall design or just the one you like better.

• Price and contact can now work as category dependant fields. We've applied a solution that combines extra fields with standard fields. The price field can be now set as a custom field. In options you can disable the price and use extra field position instead. This way the "price" and "contact" fields can be totally category dependent - same as other extra fields!

Last but not least are the SEO improvements.

We did a massive work working on the things that are not visible on the forntend but are important for your website the most important are:

• now you can set your own scheme for sef urls, that means that you can set the scheme of your url, set the names for advert view, list view, decide where to put the separator (and what the separator should be)
• ALT for images with classifieds title
• meta descriptions and meta keys for adverts (backend)
• enable/disable no-follow for website links in adverts
• set browser title scheme for items and categories

What should I do to test the beta version?
you have two options:
1)You can just download and install it on clean installation of Joomla (or on site where you want to test it and you feel secure that something can go wrong there [it’s a beta version])
2)You can do the regular update on your current joomla installation. Remember that this is a beta version, it’s not yet ready for live sites. So if your site is a serious classifieds business built on Joomla the good way would be to make a copy of the site and install it in different location to test all the new features and if the update in your case goes smooth.
